Duraprene Industries Limited was formed in 1986 with the merger of Tudor Duraprene Products Ltd. and Cast Polyurethane Products Ltd. (Ft McMurray).

At the time, the ownership group of Merv Woodworth, Fred Jessee and Wilbur (Bill) Gibson saw the opportunity and need for a different type of manufacturer, providing a wide selection of product and a technical knowledge that could offer diversity in the type of parts to be manufactured, not typical of casters at the time. Over the next 10 years the business grew to be an industry leader until Merv's untimely passing in December of 1996

In January of 1997, after several years on the shop floor, Scott Woodworth was offered the opportunity to continue his father's vision, becoming not only a shareholder with his sister Sherry, but also stepping into the daily role of General Manager

In the years that followed, Scott and Sherry were able to purchase the shares owned by Fred and Bill, becoming sole proprietors of the business with Sherry taking on full time employment with the company in September 2007

In February 2011, Scott assumed the role of company President.
